More of God's Love | Romans 8:31-39

Mister Brown

Do you remember the quote from last time? “No scale can measure how much we are loved or how incredibly precious we are to God.” There are a lot of verses in the Bible about God’s love. Last week we focused on 1 John 3:1. This week we focus on Romans 8:31-39. It is a long passage steeped in references of God’s everlasting love to His children.

When we trust that Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection were for us, we are fully accepted by God. We have been adopted into His family. We can be secure in God’s love because of what Christ did for us.

Can anything separate us from God’s love? Romans 8:31-39 tells us that as believers, we cannot be separated from God’s love. We are secure in the love of God. That is because it is not based on what we have done, but on what Christ has done. The moment we trust what Christ has done for us, our lives are changed forever.

We cannot do anything to gain God’s favor. We are only accepted by the Father because of Christ. But God’s love will motivate us to live our lives for Him, and all we do will be because of God.

2 Timothy 2:13 says, “If we are faithless, he remains faithful for he cannot deny himself.”

Romans 11:36 says, “For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.”

Remember, “No scale can measure how much we are loved or how incredibly precious we are to God.” Anxiety and doubt may plague us, but we are loved by God. People may reject us, but we are loved by God. We don’t have to meet a human standard. God’s love is incomprehensible, but it is knowable.

1 John 3:1 “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.”

We are His children through faith in Christ.
