Acts 16:31 | What Must I Do To Be Saved?
Today's memory verse is an answer to a question. The question is, "What must I do to be saved?" Acts 16:31 is the answer: “...believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
·"Believe" means to trust.
·"In the Lord Jesus" means to believe who Jesus is and what He has done. Jesus is God the Son. Jesus died on the cross for our sins.
·"you will be saved" means that you will be rescued from sin. When you believe or trust that Jesus is God the Son and that He died on the cross for your sins, you are saved or rescued from sin. Jesus saves us from sin's penalty, which is death. Jesus saves us from sin's power in our lives. Jesus saves us from sin's presence - there is no sin in heaven.
·"you and your household" means that the invitation of salvation is for everyone. You and your household can be saved if you believe and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
