“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” - A.W. Tozer
God is faithful. From various biblical accounts, including Abraham and Isaac, and John the Baptist, to our own lives, God is faithful. Throughout all, God's faithfulness is not contingent on personal circumstances or outcomes but on His character and promises.
“The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; if we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.” - 2 Timothy 2:11-13
Personal Testimony: From Cognitive Dissonance to Ministry
I was born to a single parent home but lived in close proximity to my grandparents. My grandfather was a pastor and my grandmother led in the church. I was involved in all kinds of church activities, including playing the drums and participating in youth groups.
Despite my church background, I was being discipled by the world, influenced by secular music and media, including becoming a young father outside of wedlock. I compartmentalized my life, living a Christian life on Sundays but being influenced by the world the rest of the week. I knew what I should do, but I was not living up to it.
As I reflect on my life, I can see God's faithfulness in guiding me on a journey to find more in my faith. I began to seek more understanding of God through reading the Bible, listening to preachers, and engaging with Christian literature.
Over time, I began to better understand my identity in Christ. Being united with Christ means being set free from sin and living a new life. I slowly realized I could live in that freedom. This brought significant change in my life, relieving the pressure to perform and allowing me to live a life aligned with my identity in Christ.
This realization of my new identity led to ministry work and that has turned into this ministry, Proclaim Ministries. As worship to God, I try to be faithful with the gifts and callings God has given me, using my experiences to serve others.
The goal of my ministry is to serve and make a difference in the lives of others, especially those who were once in similar situations to my own.
Everyone has a unique role to play. Consider how you can serve in your own capacities. I pray for God's guidance and transformation in your life.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” - 2 Corinthians 5:17
