Seek God First - Get the Context of Scripture | 2 Chronicles 14-16 King Asa
Mister Brown
In 2 Chronicles 14-16, we see what comes from seeking God first and what comes from not seeking God first. We must look at the context of this whole section of scripture because King Asa did both of these things. He started his reign as king seeking God first and God blessed him and the kingdom of Judah. King Asa was so serious in seeking God first that he kicked his own mother out of her position for making an idol. However, a time came when King Asa did not seek God first in his life and the consequences were severe. When life is hard and things seem hopeless, we put our hope in God first. We do this not in fear of punishment from God, but because of our love for God and our hope in Him.
