It's Not About Perfection But Faithfulness

Mister Brown

Striving for perfection in the Christian life can feel overwhelming—but God never called us to be perfect. Instead, He calls us to be faithful.

In this video, I'll touch on the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14–30) to show that God is not looking at the outcome or comparing us to others—He’s looking at our faithfulness with what we’ve been given.

As believers, we are stewards of God’s resources—our time, talents, and treasures—and will one day give an account, not for perfection, but for how faithfully we managed them.

If you’ve ever felt the pressure of trying to be the “perfect Christian,” this message will encourage you to shift your focus from unrealistic expectations to living faithfully day by day.

Questions for personal reflection:

In what areas of my life do I feel pressure to be perfect rather than faithful?

What “talents” (time, abilities, resources) has God entrusted to me? Am I using them faithfully?

How do I define success—by outcomes, or by obedience to God?

Have I ever buried what God has given me out of fear, insecurity, or comparison? What would it look like to take a step of faith instead?

What small act of faithfulness could I take this week with my time, talent, or treasure?

How can I shift my mindset from chasing perfection to pursuing faithfulness in parenting, work, or ministry?

When I stand before Christ one day, what do I hope He says about how I managed what He entrusted to me?
