Be Intentional Like Daniel | A Resolution That Actually Lasted

Mister Brown

I have a question for you: Did you make a New Year’s resolution this year? How is it going? It’s easy to start with big goals, and after a few weeks quit altogether. I chose the word “intentionality” in lieu of a New Year’s resolution this year, and it led me back to a powerful story in Daniel 1. Daniel was pressured to change his name, his language, and his lifestyle, but he resolved not to defile himself. Join me in this Connecting Faith & Life episode as we discuss how to be a "thermostat" instead of a "thermometer" and why living with purpose matters more than just fitting in.

Questions for personal reflection:

What is one area of your life where you need to decide now to follow God, before you are tested?

Do you tend to set the "temperature" (the mood or values) in your family or friend group, or do you just reflect what everyone else is doing?

How can we show respect to people in charge while still standing firm in our faith?
