Isn't Self-Reliance A Good Thing? | 2 Corinthians 1:8-10

Lately, I feel like I am in despair and I have a lot of heartache. It turns out that self-reliance can be contributing to that feeling of despair. 2 Corinthians 1:8-10 conveys the tremendous state of despair that Paul was in. But Paul also had hope. How can we keep moving forward when we are in despair? Ask yourself, where is your hope? If your hope is in this world, you will continue to be bogged down by affliction and despair. But if your hope is in the Lord, you can move forward.

[3:05] The purpose of pain is to cause us to look to God. (2 Corinthians 1:9)
[3:55] Ultimately, God will deliver us from pain. (2 Corinthians 1:10)
