Consider Others In Church

Mister Brown

Today’s random thought comes from the T-shirt I’m wearing that says, “Consider Others.” Philippians 2:3 tells us, “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.” This verse is all about considering others.

One day at church, I noticed a gentleman get down on his knees during worship service. Soon after, someone came up behind him and started tapping him on his back. The person wanted to get into the row of seats that he was kneeling in. I was a bit shocked by that. This man was worshipping God and someone came along and interrupted that because they wanted to sit in his row. I thought that was a prime time to remember to “Consider Others.”

When we enter a worship service it’s important for us to consider what God is doing. People are worshipping God, God is working in people’s lives, and people are responding. Consider the needs of the people in that worship service and what God needs to do in their lives. Sometimes we have to put our own needs aside, so that others can receive what they need from God.
