Day 6 Jeremiah 2:13 | Why God Calls This “Evil”

Mister Brown

I’ve learned the hard way that it’s possible to walk past living water while trusting a broken container. In this video, I reflect on Jeremiah 2:13 and how easy it is to replace God with substitutes that promise life but never deliver.

This message challenged me to stop trusting what leaks and return to the true source. If you’ve ever wondered why you’re still thirsty after trying everything else, this one’s for you. Watch now, reflect deeply, and ask yourself: what am I really relying on?

“...for my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water.” Jeremiah 2:13

Questions for personal reflection:

What are some “broken cisterns” people rely on today for peace or fulfillment?

Why do you think it’s easier to trust substitutes instead of God as the source?

Where have you personally felt spiritually thirsty, even while staying busy or successful?

What would it look like for God to move from a backup plan to the plan in your life?
