Day 5 Jeremiah 29:11 | God Doesn’t Waste Hard Seasons
Jeremiah 29:11 changed my life, but not the way it’s usually quoted. This verse isn’t a vacation verse. It’s a survival verse. When I finally understood the context, everything shifted. God spoke these words to people in exile, under discipline, facing loss and uncertainty. And still, He said, “I know the plans I have for you.”
In this episode of Rooted and Ready (Day 5), I share why this verse reshaped my faith, how God works through hard seasons, and why we can trust Him even when we mess up.
Watch now, reflect deeply, and ask yourself: Can I trust God when the plan doesn’t feel good yet?
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
Questions for personal reflection:
How does knowing the context of Jeremiah 29:11 change how you see this verse?
Why do you think God told the exiles to settle down and pray for the city instead of escaping it?
Can you recall a season where God used something uncomfortable to grow you?
Is it harder for you to trust God when you’re disciplined or when you’re waiting?
