God Knows | Psalm 139 | Naked and Unashamed Part 1

Mister Brown

I know what to do, but I don’t always do it. Do you ever struggle with that? I realized that my struggles come from my unwillingness to be naked and unashamed. That unwillingness to be vulnerable and honest with God is a deception.

It is self-deception to not admit where we really are in life because God already knows everything about us. I may feel like I need to put my best self on before I can go to God, but He already knows the real me. He knows the real you too.

I can be naked and unashamed before God. He already knows me and He still loves me because of Christ. Christ has broken down all the barriers and all the shame and now I can truly stand before God naked and unashamed.

[5:50] Read Psalm 139 or listen along with me.

God knows all and that can seem scary, but it’s also comforting. God knows everything about me. I don’t have to be ashamed and that means that I can be completely transparent with Him. Through Jesus Christ I am fully accepted by God, so there is nothing to hide.

The world tells us to make ourselves look good, but God says we can be humble and broken over our sin. Our adequacy is not found in ourselves or our accomplishments. It is found in the God who loves us and created us for His glory.

I want to encourage you that you can be naked and not ashamed of who you are because God loves you. Walk in that truth. There is power and grace with that truth. God’s grace is sufficient for us to live a life that is pleasing to Him.

We’ll be coming back to this, so read Psalm 139 again. Rest in the fact that God knows all about you, so you can go to Him naked and unashamed.

“Helping you connect faith and life.”
