God is Knowable | Psalm 139:1-6 | Naked and Unashamed Part 2
Sometimes we think after reading scripture that we need to go do something. We think we need to change something in our lives or work on improving ourselves. However, there is a lot of scripture that should cause us to pause and contemplate it. Psalm 139:1-6 is a lot like that. It should cause us to stop and recognize the truth of God knowing all about us. God is omniscient. He knows all.
[2:35] Read Psalm 139:1-6 or listen along with me.
David talks about God’s omniscience in this passage. God knows everything about us in a close and intimate way. Therefore, we can trust God with everything. We can be naked and unashamed before Him.
Psalm 139:1-6 expresses how incomprehensible God is, but He is still knowable. We cannot comprehend everything about God because He is infinite. But knowing that about God should put us in a posture of awe, reverence, and respect. We can put our trust in a God who is so big.
I find a lot of comfort in knowing how big our God is. When life has its struggles and there seems to be upheaval all around, God is not shaken. God continues to rule as King above it all and He will continue to reign as King forever.
Even when life is tough, we can have hope in our God and go to Him naked and without shame. We can be honest with Him about our struggles and worries. Don’t be afraid to be vulnerable with God. Remember, He already knows all about you. This is where private prayer time can be so powerful. It’s just you and God. You can be real with God because He knows how you are feeling, what you are thinking, what you are doing and He still wants to hear from you. Don’t be worried about making yourself look good before God. He will meet you exactly where you are.
God is big enough to handle all of our problems. We have to realize how big He is and be willing to be naked and unashamed.
