It's A Family Affair | Proclaim News

One of the things I'm most grateful for in ministry is that it's not something I do alone.

As I recorded a recent update from the studio, I looked around and realized I wasn't the only one working. Someone else was editing and helping behind the scenes. That may not sound unusual, but it reminded me of something special: ministry has become a family affair.

In a recent video, I mentioned that we currently don't have any editors on our team. Over the years, we've worked with several talented editors, but at this moment, we don't have any official editing staff. That may be changing, though.

The newest person helping in the studio is one of my own kids.

Watching my family become involved in ministry is a blessing.

Ministry Is More Than One Person

Many people know me as the face of the ministry, but the reality is that countless hours of work happen behind the scenes.

My wife has been a huge part of that work for years. She teaches, creates content, and develops resources that help people grow in their faith. Many of her Bible studies, Advent resources, and teaching videos are available through our ministry resources. You can also find more of her work at HelloMrsBrown.com.

Our daughter Sophia is involved as well. She helps edit videos, works in the studio, serves at church, and has a heart for children. She loves helping others learn and grow, and I'm excited about some future projects where she'll be helping with memory verses and sign language resources.

It's encouraging to see each family member using their gifts in different ways.

Different Gifts, Same Mission

One of the beautiful things about ministry is that not everyone serves in the same role.

Some teach.

Some create.

Some edit.

Some encourage.

Some work directly with children.

Some support the work financially.

But together, we're all participating in the same mission: helping people connect faith and life.

That's what Proclaim Ministries is all about.

We want to help kids and teens know, love, and live for God. At the same time, we want to equip parents, church leaders, teachers, and other adults with the tools and confidence they need to disciple the next generation.

Every lesson, video, Bible study, podcast, memory verse, and training resource exists to support that mission.

Thank You for Being Part of the Story

Whenever I thank our supporters, I try to do so with the right perspective.

The truth is, God doesn't need us.

God can accomplish His purposes with us, without us, and despite us. He is sovereign, powerful, and fully capable of carrying out His plans.

Yet in His grace, He invites us to participate.

That's what makes ministry such a privilege.

Your support doesn't make God able to work. Rather, God chooses to use people like you as part of His work.

Whether through prayer, encouragement, sharing resources, volunteering, or financial giving, you become part of the story of helping kids and teens connect faith and life.

And for that, I'm incredibly grateful.

More than anything, I hope it reminds you that ministry is never just about one person. It's about people using their gifts together to serve others and point them toward Christ.
