The Lies in Your Head Don’t Have Power Anymore
Sometimes I wake up with a song already playing in my head. When I was younger, that wasn’t always a good thing. But this morning something different happened. I woke up with a worship song in my mind: “Yesterday is gone.”
Those lyrics reminded me of a powerful truth from Romans 6. In Christ, the old man is gone and we’ve been made new. The thoughts that once defined us are now just whispers. They try to come back, but they no longer have the power they once had.
In this video, I share why what we put into our minds matters so much. Garbage in, garbage out. Truth in, truth out. This morning I woke up realizing I’ve been made brand new. And if you’re in Christ, that same truth is true for you too.
Watch now and ask yourself: What thoughts are you waking up with each day?
Share this with someone who needs the reminder that yesterday is gone.
Questions for personal reflection:
What kinds of thoughts usually come into your mind when you first wake up?
How does music influence what you think about throughout the day?
What “old whispers” try to remind you of your past identity instead of your new one in Christ?
What are some practical ways you can fill your mind with truth each day?
