The Truth About “You Got This” Culture

Mister Brown

This morning I was reminded of something my grandparents used to say when I was a kid: “Don’t get too big for your britches.” Back then it meant I was starting to think I knew everything. I was forgetting who provided for me and who my source really was.

As I listened to the worship song “Great Are You Lord,” one lyric hit me again: “It’s Your breath in our lungs, so we pour out our praise.” That line reminded me that even the air I breathe comes from God. Everything I have, everything I can do, comes from Him.

Sometimes our culture tells us, “You got this.” But the truth is, I don’t got this on my own. I depend on God for everything.

So today’s thought is simple: remember the source. Because if it’s His breath in our lungs, then everything we do should point back to Him.

Watch now and ask yourself: What am I doing with the breath God gave me?
