Stop Putting Your Foot in Your Mouth | Psalm 19:14
Do you ever feel like you have a "foot in your mouth" problem? I grew up talking a lot and being pretty impulsive, and I quickly realized that the more I spoke, the more likely I was to say something I shouldn't. It’s like squeezing too much toothpaste out of the tube, once it's out, you can’t put it back in.
In this video, I want to share how I’ve learned to connect faith and life by seeking God’s wisdom for my words. We look at why our "internal orange juice" spills out when life gets messy and how a simple prayer from the Psalms can change the way we speak. Watch now to see how you can start controlling your lips and heart today.
Questions for personal reflection:
When you are stressed or surprised, what kind of words usually "spill" out of your mouth?
Why is it so difficult to "put the toothpaste back in" once you’ve said something hurtful or impulsive?
Do you find it harder to stay out of trouble when you are talking a lot? Why or why not?
How would your day change if you started every morning by asking God to make your words and your thoughts acceptable to Him?
