Part 3 | By Grace Through Faith For Purpose

Mister Brown

Have you ever felt like you're constantly trying to impress God with your achievements, or conversely, running away because of your past? In Part 3 of this powerful sermon, I break down the beautiful reality of God's grace. Just like King David initiated the search for Mephibosheth because of a covenant with Jonathan, God always makes the first move in our lives because of Jesus. We don't need to bring spiritual trophies to His table. Watch to discover how God draws us to Himself, redeems our past, and completely transforms us from a caterpillar into a brand-new creation built to fly!

Questions for personal reflection or discussion:

We all like to get our own way, whining and crying from the time we are babies into adulthood. In what areas of your spiritual life are you still trying to force your own way instead of surrendering to God's lead?

David showed kindness to Mephibosheth because of his covenant with Jonathan, just as God blesses us because of Jesus. How does it comfort you to know that your standing with God rests on Jesus' perfection rather than your own performance?

The sermon highlights a family whose daughters have rooms packed with golf trophies, illustrating that human accolades cannot buy salvation. What "spiritual trophies" or good deeds are you tempted to rely on to prove your worth to God or others?

Stop looking back at the sins God has already redeemed and start looking up. Like a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly, what old habits or mindsets do you need to let go of so you can truly walk in your new identity?
